Jesus, The WORD made flesh, gave Himself as the sacrifice to redeem mankind from the curse. He was made the curse–made to be sin for us. He was the snake on the pole described in Numbers 21:8-9. Why? “So that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:14). Because of His eternal sacrifice we can run to “the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16) and confidently declare, “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2, KJV)!
