“That they may behold my glory” (KJV). What is the glory? It is the manifested power and presence of God. God is love. And “whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16). Jesus is talking about the love between Him and the Father–the glory. He is asking the Father to allow His disciples and us (John 17:20) to behold and experience that glorious love and to live in its powerful, life-giving, life-changing power. Heaven is lit by, filled with, and functions by His glory. Romans 5:5 says, “The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” This glorious, world-overcoming, healing, and delivering power and glory of God is in us!
