The Praise Cure

The Praise Cure

A missionary in China named Rosa Smith contracted smallpox.

She faced dire natural circumstances: No vaccine. No cure. No hope of survival.

She didn’t beg God. She didn’t pray and hope He would do something. She didn’t start a prayer chain.

In faith, she asked Him what she should do.

This is what He told her…

Praise Me. Praise Me for My faithfulness to My Word.

Then, He showed her a vision of an empty basket labeled “Praise.” He told her when she had filled it to the top, she would receive her healing.

So—even as ill as she was—she began singing, shouting and praising the Lord. The doctors thought she was delirious and told her to be quiet, but she kept on praising. When they told her if she recovered, she would be disfigured for life, she praised louder than ever.

She shouted and sang and praised until the Lord showed her the praise basket was full and overflowing. Then, she fell asleep. When she woke up, all her symptoms had vanished, leaving no trace, not even a single scar.

The world didn’t have an answer to her trouble. But God did.

Praise was the cure.

Are you facing an impossible situation today? Have the effects of COVID-19 brought on fear or financial trouble that needs a spiritual remedy?

Praise is the cure.

You can fill your praise basket to overflowing, forcing the troubles in your life to vanish and leave no trace of ever being there if you’ll do one thing….use the praise cure.

Here’s how you start.

1. Praise God for His Faithfulness to His Word

If things are low right now—your health, finances, relationships—it can be tough to switch over to gratitude and praise. But you must if you want to break through to the other side.

Mark Hankins says, “The praise cure works every time and not just in one area—it will work in every area of your life. It is available at every moment to every one of us.”

Think about First Peter 1:8, which says, “…you believe and you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (MEV).

When you believe—you rejoice. The missionary who recovered says it’s simple to use the praise cure: “Just believe what God says Jesus has done for you—body, soul and spirit. Think about it, talk about it, sing about it, shout about it, and the praise cure has begun.”

Praise God for His faithfulness to His Word. His Word never fails. It never returns void. And He ALWAYS keeps His promises. Praise Him for it!

Being now: “Thank You, God, thank You. Thank You for Your faithfulness to Your Word. Glory to God! Thank You, Lord, for Your goodness and Your mercy. I praise You, Lord! Glory to You, God!” Sing it, shout it—praise Him!

2. Keep Praising Until You Break Through

Some people want to throw up one or two “Hallelujahs” and call it a day, but that’s not how praise will cure your trouble. The missionary who was healed praised until her breakthrough came.

Something happens when you move over into a spirit of praise that keeps going until you break through. There’s power in praise—that’s why Psalm 22:3 says He inhabits the praises of His people.

Some people want to praise quietly to themselves. That won’t work!

You cannot sit there with your mouth shut and expect the praise cure to work for you. There is no silent praise. You’ve got to open your mouth!

Be loud. Be bold. Give confident thanks to God. You can’t afford to be silent. (Need help getting started? Use our list of 36 Reasons to Praise the Lord HERE.)

Remember…Paul and Silas were praising out loud. Their backs were bleeding; they were in pain; their hands and feet were bound. It looked like the devil had won a victory. But he made one mistake…and you can imagine Paul saying to the devil, “You’ve got my hands and feet bound, but you should’ve taped my mouth shut—because as long as I can move my mouth, I can move a mountain. As long as I can move my mouth, I have authority.”

And their praises went through that prison and up to heaven. Then the power of God came down on that sound and set them—and everyone around them—FREE.

If you’ll dare to lift your voice in praise, not only will it set you free, it will set those around you free, too.

Keep praising. Keep praising. Keep praising. Fill up that basket!

3. Laugh at the Devil

As you’re praising, the devil is going to show up.

Guaranteed.

He’s going to tell you all about why you’re not going to get what you need from God. He’s going to try to get you to shut your mouth.

So you need to be prepared. What are you going to do? Laugh at the devil.

You’re not mocking him—you’re laughing at the idea that you don’t already have what God has promised you. You’re laughing in the face of fear and doubt. You’re refusing to take his empty threats seriously.

When Kenneth Hagin was healed of a terminal heart condition, that’s just what he had to do. After he was healed, the symptoms tried to come back. He knew he was healed, so he decided to laugh at the devil’s attempts to get him to retreat from his stand.

He had to force himself to laugh because he didn’t feel like it. So he just laid there in the bed and said, “Ha.” Then he said, “Ha-ha.” The devil said, “This time you’re not going to get your healing.” Brother Hagin said, “That’s why I’m laughing. I don’t have to get it. Jesus got it for me 2,000 years ago.”

The devil came back again and said the same thing. And Brother Hagin just kept on laughing and saying, “It’s mine. I have it now.”

This went on for 45 minutes until he fell asleep. When he woke up, every symptom was gone and never came back. Praise keeps the victory!

You see, that’s just it. You’re never fighting for victory, you’re fighting from a position of victory.

Whatever is going on in your life—just laugh at the devil. Ha-ha-ha! Then say, “Devil, that’s not going to work in my life. I’m going to rejoice in God’s goodness, rejoice in His mercy, and rejoice that I have every promise through Christ Jesus. So I’m going to go ahead and laugh and rejoice.”

You know, C.S. Lewis said, “Joy is the serious business of heaven.”

It’s time to use a tool that is so easy, so available and completely free to take victory over finances, health, relationships or anything else you need.

Use the praise cure. Praise until your basket is filled up and tilts the situation in your favor. While you’re singing and shouting and praising—God is taking care of your situation. It is so much more fun to praise God than to sit and worry. Praise Him! He is worthy.

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach you why praising is the final step before receiving.

Protecting Your Finances

How to Protect Your Finances During COVID-19

Your life probably looks a lot different right now than it did just a few weeks ago. The long lines just to get into the grocery store, everyone wearing masks, and having to be intentional about not standing too close to others.

The effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have changed our daily lives and, in many cases, left us wondering what the future holds—especially concerning the economy.

But know this:

Your financial prosperity is safe.

In fact, you can expect to prosper, even during uncertain times.

How can we be so sure?

Because your money isn’t subject to the government, the economy, your job or any other outside source. This planet doesn’t have any right to dictate to you whether your needs are met or not. The Bible says God will meet your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19)!

If you’re looking for clarity on how to approach finances in unprecedented times, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to protect your finances during COVID-19.

1. Use the Right Financial Advisor

In times of great challenge, the tendency of many is to switch over to fear and uncertainty—especially when considering finances. Here’s the problem:

Fear is a terrible financial advisor.

It’s a poor advisor in any circumstance, but when it comes to money, it can cause you to do the OPPOSITE of everything that will help you make it through the challenges. It will cause you to lean on “common sense” instead of faith, which is what opens the door to supernatural provision.

Have you made fear your financial advisor during this season?

Consider these symptoms of fear in finances during coronavirus:

  • Hoarding. (Sure, you need supplies for extended periods of quarantine, but you don’t need a year’s supply of toilet paper.)
  • Making panicky calls about your investments.
  • Staying up at night worrying about losing your job.

If this describes you, it’s time to switch to another, more competent, financial advisor. And that advisor is God Himself. What He says about your money is ALWAYS dependable, no matter what is happening around you.

What does He say?

Don’t be tempted to fear for your finances in the face of COVID-19. Have faith in God.

(Read a powerful story of supernatural investment advice HERE.)

2. Keep Honoring God

If you’ve faced a layoff or decrease in your income during the COVID-19 situation, we want to stand in agreement with you right now that new job opportunities, increase and supernatural financial breakthrough are yours in Jesus’ Name!

If you’re an obedient believer and a faithful tither, we believe you receive a double return for what the devil has stolen, just as Job did.

Keep standing on your faith, and don’t give in to fear. Don’t give in to the temptation to break off your connection to supernatural blessing—in other words, keep honoring God with your tithe to your local church. What you need now is for the windows of heaven to open over you. Malachi tells us the windows of heaven open for those who are faithful to tithe, no matter what is going on.

(Read a testimony of blessings from tithing during the Depression HERE.)

The Bible never instructs you to do something that isn’t for your good. If God is for you, nothing else can be against you.

3. Walk in the Spirit of Faith

When things like the coronavirus are attempting to dominate the thoughts and words of the entire world, that is the time to dig deep—to walk in a spirit of faith.

If you’ll dare to believe God’s Word, you can have light in the middle of a dark world. You can live prosperously in the middle of an impoverished world. You can have protection in the middle of a dangerous world. You can live healed in the middle of a sick world. And you can live free in the middle of a captive world.

But you can’t do it dragging around with an attitude of defeat. If you want to walk in victory in your finances during a time when our nation and world are facing the impact of COVID-19, you must develop a spirit of faith and persevere in that spirit—even when the devil is putting pressure on you.

To walk in a spirit of faith, you must do three things:

  • Feed on the Word.
  • Tune out the negative.
  • Speak the Word of God.

Walking in a spirit of faith—not by the flesh—is how you stay protected.

4. Speak What You Believe

If you’re listening to the news, your neighbors or anyone else who has an opinion about how the world is doing during the coronavirus, you’ll probably get an earful of negativity and doubt.

That’s why this is a critical time to be feeding your spirit the Word of God—regularly. It’s the only way to build up your faith.

That’s what the spirit of faith does. It stands in the middle of impossible circumstances—just like the financial effects of the coronavirus—and believes God anyway. Then it begins to speak. (Try our Powerhouse Confessions About Finances During Tough Times.)

Faith doesn’t just say anything. When bills stack up, faith doesn’t say, “I don’t have the money!” Faith says, “My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all I can ask or think!”

“Well, I’m just not comfortable with that confession business. I like to believe God quietly.”

That may be what you like, but it’s not what the Bible teaches. The Bible says, we believe; therefore we speak (2 Corinthians 4:13).

If you want to change your financial circumstances during the COVID-19 situation, you must have faith in two places—your heart and your mouth.

As you walk in these ways to protect your finances during COVID-19, remember this:

God will provide you a job when there is no job. He will provide you with income when there is no possible way, in the natural, to get income. God will provide for you regardless of the world situation. Just keep your eyes on Him. He will never let you down!

6 Prayer Points

6 Prayer Points in Response to COVID-19

Wondering how to respond to the coronavirus as a Christian? Use these prayer points to take your place of authority.

Quarantines, resource shortages and the strain on the economy can leave many people feeling helpless during these challenging times. But make no mistake—you were made to conquer.

God has said He will always cause us to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14). All we have to do is take the VICTORY He has assured us—and we do this by FAITH.

It may not seem like it, based on what the media has to say, but when it comes to the coronavirus, you are not helpless. In fact, you are needed in this hour—for such a time as this.

One powerful weapon you have at your disposal is prayer. Pastor George Pearsons wrote a Prayer of Agreement for Victory Over Coronavirus that you can get HERE. In addition, you can further assume the position of authority in Christ Jesus and use these 6 Prayer Points in Response to COVID-19. Your prayers are powerful and will produce wonderful results (James 5:16)!

1. Pray That the Church Will Be a Light

“A scared world needs a fearless Church.” These words of A.W. Tozer could not be more true than in today’s circumstances.

When trouble comes, we—the Church—should look different from everyone else. We should respond differently. In doing so, we will shine a light in a dark world that is without hope and peace—something most people are reaching for right now.

While the world spreads messages of fear and uncertainty, we are instructed not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). That means we don’t let the world tell us how to respond, we let the Word of God be our guide.

Pray that the Church will do the following:

  • Don’t feed fear. Our words and actions should stand out in the crowd. Instead of joining in with the fear-filled conversation, pray that we will be an encouragement instead and speak God’s Word of victory.
  • Exude confidence. While others are panicking, Christians should look different. We should bring hope and peace to an unsettling situation and demonstrate our faith.
  • Offer to help. Instead of hoarding resources, we can find ways to reach out to the community. Run errands for the elderly or pray for people over the phone who are experiencing fear.

 2. Pray for World Leaders

While so many people have used this opportunity to criticize leadership, Christians should be different. We must demonstrate the love of Christ, rather than a spirit of criticism.

First Timothy 2:1-3 says, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior” (NKJV).

We can show love and support by praying for world leaders in the following ways:

  • Pray that every world leader would operate with wisdom, strength and guidance from God.
  • Pray for peace for all leaders.
  • Pray for cooperation among all leaders.
  • Pray for supernatural understanding and decision-making ability regarding COVID-19.

 3. Pray for Our Economy

The response to current circumstances has put a great strain on our economy—including small businesses. You can use your faith to pray for our economy in the following ways:

  • Pray that fear would cease, and economic activity would pick up again.
  • Pray for the financial health of small businesses.
  • Pray for a supernatural renewal of resources.
  • Pray for the protection of jobs for fellow believers.

Remember—we are not under the world’s economy—we are under God’s heavenly economy, and it NEVER FAILS. Satan has come to steal, kill and destroy. We have been given authority, and it’s time to pray him out of this situation and off our money in Jesus’ Name!

4. Pray for Psalm 91 Protection

There is no prayer more powerful than one prayed in faith and based on Scripture. Psalm 91 covers every aspect of the current circumstances with the power of Almighty God.

When you pray, you can declare scriptures in faith. You don’t have to ask if it is God’s will to protect you—His Word already says so!

  • Thank Him and praise Him that Psalm 91 protection is all around you.
  • Declare Psalm 91 protection over yourself, your family, your body and your home.
  • Don’t forget to pray for health care workers, grocery store personnel and others in essential roles who are on the front lines.
  • Recite Psalm 91 out loud and make it personal by putting your name in the verse.

Find A Personalized Declaration of Psalm 91 HERE.

5. Pray Against the Spirit of Fear

God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of POWER, love and a SOUND MIND. A sound mind doesn’t think and speak irrationally or stir up a spirit of fear among other people. It is EMPOWERED in any situation!

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) says, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

You can pray against the spirit of fear as follows:

  • Bind Satan from operating and from spreading fear among your friends, relatives and country.
  • Loose a spirit of peace, power and a sound mind.
  • Declare 2 Timothy 1:7 over your life.

6. Pray That People Will Come to Christ

In difficult times, many are seeking answers. It is in uncertain times that many will turn to the Lord who wouldn’t have otherwise. We believe that the end-time harvest is here!

Here are some tips on how you can pray that people will come to Christ:

  • Pray that those who do not know the Lord will come to Christ and find the answers, not only in the current troubles, but with every need they face in their lives.
  • Pray for an awakening and that people would turn to Him when all other sources fail.

As you use these 6 Prayer Points in Response to COVID-19, you will not only impact the world around you, but build your own faith at the same time. Prayer is a powerful weapon, and it CHANGES things. Expect and believe for the power of God to descend upon His people in response to their faith, praise and prayer. We have the victory over the coronavirus (COVID-19)!

7. Bonus Prayer Point from Kenneth Copeland: Pray for a Supernatural Heatwave!

Join us as we pray, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, for a supernatural heatwave to kill COVID-19! As Brother Copeland was praying about the current situation concerning the coronavirus last week, the Holy Spirit instructed him to tell the Body of Christ to pray for heat like you would pray for rain. Why? The coronavirus cannot live in high temperatures, so a heat wave would kill it.

The Holy Spirit living inside of us has the answers to every problem we’ll ever face—which includes answers to this current pandemic. When we pray by the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will supernaturally shift the atmosphere to align with God’s will because we are praying His solution and provision into the earth!
